Food prices alone are horrendous. I spend about $200 to $250 a week. That's food for the truck (fruits , veggies prepared food from home and coffee), food for the house (2 adult kids, boys girlfriend her 2 kids, and my wonderful granddaughter) and beer for the weekend. Okay add the beer, maybe $300.

You are dealing in some cases with a old overmountain people who cherish their freedom from Governmental interference dating back to and probably prior to the 1640's where the frontier is so far from Philadelpha and it's new Government.
Unfortuntaely if you were to study our history carefully in that part, TVN (Tennessee Valley Nuclear or similar) large new deal era public works forced access to a People who generally do no cotton to being bothered.
There is also a trail of tears which is made up of several roadways on which physically walked the entire Cherokee and related displaced peoples here when they were forceably evicted from roughly Savannah-Danville-Asheville area and sent to the Oklahoma Territory back in the 1800's
Yes the People are different. If you spend some time talking and more time listening to stories of their history you will learn quite a bit. Try it sometime. I encourage you.Eowyn Thanks this. -
this is true, then too, many times, a home can be expanded for a nominal cost, over say selling and buying another. and if the neighborhood is great, why not expand, provided local codes allow this?
one can expand up (dormer roof) or out from the back or sides.
this too will increase the value of the home.
i'd also like to think and extra bathroom helps too.
the more bedrooms a house has, the more value come time to sell.Evox760 Thanks this. -
There was a time when I first moved here to Arkansas, water was plentiful. Billed at 20 dollars a month if that for a whole house and everyone in it.
About 15 years ago a group of every town in about 6 counties got together to pool millions of dollars in federal money that will mature and come due to build two pipelines to Greers Ferry Lake and tap a new source of water as the old one below our feet turns to salt and dirt.
It was determined by the towns and each water department in these towns to impose a cost on to about 670,000 households in our part of the state so that 20 dollar billing deliberately is increased by 110 dollars a month so that the bonds will be paid off come maturity this year and next number of years.
None of the 670,000 home owners were told that the water income from bills for water service will be a fee of 110 dollars tacked on for the purpose of paying for these pipelines. And so lo and behold, our water bill became 150 plus. When we hooked up the sewer, it essentially doubled it. Water in, grey water out. Bill bill bill.
Im no longer a home owner. My costs has been reduced greatly by no longer particpating in a system in which people who own homes, lands etc are constantly billed ever increasing amounts of money. It's silly.
Do we need those pipelines? Probably. But at some point 15 years from now they want to lay two more bigger lines to bigger sources of water. As more and more people move here to live. We were about 3000 20 years ago, now we are approaching 20K and probably double that in 15 years as the children have children.tucker Thanks this. -
well i feel for you. we pay a water AND sewer bill.
the sewer bill WAS ALWAYS half the water bill.
but my city decided it was time to build a new sewer transfer station, WITH federal monies mind you.
now my sewer bill is DOUBLED my water bill.
i too will be an apartment dweller some day. i tire of the burdens of home ownership in a corrupt state.
(like what state is totally corruption free??)G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
That's good you pay your bils.I personally don't understand why you feel the need to say you pay your again the key word your bills, isn't that what your supposed to do.its not a question of if ,the pre qualifying loan will be disqualified it will.A new career both parties quit present jobs and no record of earnings from new career like I said I wouldn't worry about it.

Honestly I don't see getting a 300k mortgage approved period unless you have a history of making 75-90k yearly past 24months. Def won't get it if she is unemployed and you don't know your monthly income. No way. No how. I have purchased and sold 13 homes and rentals. Once your get 2 the verification no way you will get approved 4 a loan without guaranteed income.
