That is so sad. I'm glad the driver was at least able to rescue the girls.

FIRESTONE, Colo. -- A truck driver who rescued two girls from a burning sport utility vehicle said he was unable to save their mother because the flames were too intense.

Jorge Orozco-Sanchez told 7NEWS that he was hauling a load of corn from Sterling to an ethanol plant in Windsor when the SUV crossed over into his lane on Highway 392, north of Greeley.

"I remember seeing her holding the steering wheel and looking right at me," Orozco-Sanchez said.

My girlfriend works at Children's Hospital and saw the 1 yr old yesterday with the students that she is running thru clinicals. The older girl I guess ended up Children's as well, but she's out of the hospital. Sounds like both of her arms were burnt pretty badly. The 1 yr old is still in the hospital I can't remember if she's in the PICU or not.
