The constant disrespect is really becoming an issue

This used to be a pretty, new Jetta.... then he wanted my lane too. I had the dirty (yeah.... the bug guts might be the only thing holding it together) white Volvo day-cab 10-speed back in 2 weeks. And only the passenger side of that fine German - VAG (Volks & Audi Group) - is worth the salvage.

Someone's insurance bought a new drivers side for said Volvo - headlight to rear drive tire.

 

SOmetimes yoy just got to take the good with the bad and just deal and take extra steps to be safe

 

Yes, this is the answer. The police can't be everywhere all the time, but truck drivers can(and are). We need a feature that can record and send 1080p video clips of people doing stupid things straight to the local PD. It's sent just like sending a message to dispatch, but instead, it goes to the nearest police dept. Since people will never take responsibility for their actions, we need to have the police do it for them in the form of a hefty citation mailed to their home. Not a silly $25 slap on the hand...I'm talking about a weeks worth of grocery money. I bet all these grown kids will get their act together in a hurry and cities and towns all over the country will have plenty of revenue to put back into the community. As someone said before, we need to hold these people accountable. Until then, they will learn nothing.

 

This is a bit too much big brother like for me, this isn't Europe, and it never should be, we don't need cameras everywhere, and tickets mailed to your home. IMO

With that said, The shear amount of people that have no idea how to properly merge, or use their turn signal, or play piss off (matching the speed of the car next to you), or driving in the fast lane and pretending they are a speed cop is staggering. Is it poor teaching or drivers becoming complacent after being taught proper driving?

Hell i called the police the other day about an officer that was half way in the thru lane and half way in the turn lane, and finally turned his signal on as he was turning........ wtf you're the authority, you need to lead by example, how can you in good conscience enforce laws that you yourself don't even obey?

 

This is quite sad but true.

The lack of respect issue goes further than just the roadways, it's in every facet of human activity today. The last few generations have been raised with a sense of enlightenment and lack of repercussions for their actions. It has become "the best interest of the child" rather than the "rights of the parents". Everyone gets a trophy!
