I think it would be cool to get something like this going in every state for all high school students. I like the idea a lot!

Yep that is a great idea. I know it works 'cuz everyone who has been in my truck always comments on how do you keep from running people over on the road. I think they change how they drive around trucks after that, at least that's what they tell me.

I think, too, that this should be done at every high school around the country. Great program.

I got to agree, this should be done and I'm thinking when I get my truck on the road and stuff this is what I'm gonna do is back to the school I'm graduating from and go to the driver's ed class and give a presentation on how to drive around trucks and make a video of it.

When I first started driving and had a bunch of ideals I tried to get Schneider to organize a multi trucking company trucker awareness program for high school/drivers ed.. I suggested contacting companies such a J.B Hunt, Werner, USX ext... and develop such a program. I wrote just about everybody I could and a few responded saying that it was a great ideal and they would look into it.. Well of coarse they have not done anything.. Would be easy for the large trucking companies to send a few guys and truck to high schools.. Heck they probably would find many that would volunteer to do it in their companies.. Even if they paid the people it would be a tax write off but the ideal went nowhere..

I also suggested 30 sec info commercials... each having a specific topic such as one for merging... People seem to forget that they need to turn their head coming down the ramp and adjust speed accordingly, they get to the bottom and expect a truck to get over.. Another would be blind spots.. ext... just daily reminders on T.V on driving topics... Education and reminders are more effective then traffic enforcement if you ask me.. Its just not the profitable way in making the roads safe..
