So, what would the minimum amount of emergency cash be, in your opinion, that ideally you would have to begin with on a owner operator level in order to have a higher rate of success?

Veteran here too. Tried Prime, but had to drop due to them not being able to get my records for my back. My wife would kill me.

    Status Update:

Well so far after a ton of research and careful consideration, as of right now im interested in: USA Truck, Schneider, Maverick, Western Express, Prime, Roehl, and even after some things ive heard throught the grapevine, im still considering Celadon due to some inaccuracies regarding their company's future. Chances are i will start out dry van at FIRST just so I can get my feet wet, but as you see, several of these companies have other divisions to jump into, for example Maverick is primarily flatbed, Roehl and Western Express has both flatbed/dry van, and Schneider has tanker. USA Truck is probably my first choice, mainly because of their Apprenticeship Program for veterans, and when I spoke to the recruiter, I just felt like it was a good feel at first, they have APUs in all their trucks, and its a "medium size" company on the rise that is competing heavy with the big companies. Western Express has Direct TV in all their trucks, which is actually pretty cool, but we will see what happens from here.
