you just have to know the laws of the state you are in. a lot of these companys tell their drivers that its against the fmcsr, but thats a lie.
-
Most shippers/receivers prohibit them on their property . Complying with all states is a hassle . Some states have recognize licenses from other states , some don't . This may help . http://www.nraila.org/GunLaws/

As RickG stated, it is a hassle to carry.
Criminals carry in order to break the law.
I break the law in order that I not become a statistic. -
I think criminals carry for the same reason as you... they just have no respect for the law, where (i hope) you do, you choose to be able to fight back if the need should arise. Not that i condone breaking the law but we all know that some laws are just plain wrong... so carry on! Good Luck an Good Truckin'

During my training, we were told that several states had mandatory prison sentences for any driver caught with a firearm in his commercial vehicle. That is enough for me to NOT carry a firearm in my commercial vehicle. Doesn't matter what kind, or how many, licenses you have.
-
jut a question for you... Did any one show you that in black and white? I would be very interested in seeing that.
-
I never had a gun in the truck, but I did had mean old baseball bat.Help me out few times...
-
No. I never actually studied all 48 states laws to determine whether that is in fact true.
But, I'm not going to carry a firearm just to 'test' the system.
In case you want to try it for yourself, and end up in the pokie, be sure and let us know. -
this subject has been discussed at great length in MANY previous threads and posts.
