They must reserve the half day/ if not the whole day for that one delivery. They pick up in LA on Monday run 340 to park in Tonapah, AZ, then they deliver at f....Kroger in Tollesone, AZ on Tuesday.. The next load is booked Wednesday afternoon. So much time wasted on this leveled playing field. They want us all to be like that. How efficient is that?

They'll cheat just like everyone else in that situation. ELDs won't fix a thing. Just more Federal intervention, destruction of the industry and eroding of liberties.

I am referring more to the point of if you log out or disconnect it and do these little innocent moves like take it to the door and hand in paperwork that technically break your required rest time that is hiding hours. That is falsifying logs. The receiver does have a huge yard but they are not a truck stop so why should they have to allow us to sit there after we deliver? Or do these overnight loads now get padded with 12 extra hours on the truck so you get to the closest truck stop then go in and get in and out before your 14 expires..?

Ok, so I log on duty from say 1030 to 1045 when I check in, and in reality I move it to the dock around 130, where this device is supposed to now capture all driving and when it was done. How is this not going to be like shooting fish in a barrel for the scale inspector. I don't believe there is an exception for these small moves. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Well, technically, riding around a Walmart yard does not need be logged on the third line, does it?
Besides, the elds kind depending, they may not have to log a move beyond a certain radius.

No that's personal conveyance. And moving around on customer property doing business I don't think is considered pc. Lie about it and beg for mercy?

It's private property. UPS will hire scabs that don't even have a CDL to drive yard trucks during peak season. There are no regulations or rules governing those drivers because they never leave UPS property. I do agree with you though these kind of scenarios are ridiculous. And isn't it funny the loopholes drivers will look for to work even harder and do it all for free.
