Go to the website for the United States Department of State.
    .Hit on travel and business
    2.Hit on Travel.state.gov(on the left)
3.Hit on international travel for US citizens
4.Hit on A-Z country index, then hit on Canada

This will list some contacts and some good info.Another site is the Canada Border Services Agency.www.cbsa.gc.ca.If you have any trouble opening links on this page just hit on (open in new tab).Last thing.I know it will be almost ten years since your conviction but they don't drop off your record.Ten years may be relevant for an employer to hire you in the States but as far Canadian authorities are concerned you still have a criminal background.

I have dealt with this for many drivers in the U.S. You really need a lawyer in Canada to help you through the process otherwise it could cost you much more money than you wish to put out.

As well, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has some online information & documents that may be of help which may be downloaded & printed.

There is an attorney/barrister in Toronto named Michael Walker (he has a website...Michael Walker Law Office) who is very reasonable in his prices for the documentation to help you. Last I knew it was somewhere around $4,000.00 (Canadian). I have heard horror stories from drivers that tried to do it themselves where it cost them in excess of $10,000.00 (Canadian)

There are quite a few companies listed in various Canadian trucking magazines that can help you out at less $ than a Lawyer.
