Did you figure out what you're pulling yet? I've been running to Monroe myself a lot, lately. Asphalt only, of course tho..... LoL.

Ya seem to be doing "way alright" to me, especially being 'fairly new' to this. Your hometime may not be the greatest, but you're earning the green!! :)

Yea this month I'm only taking off 6 days. Which is what Schneider wants, you get 6 days off a month however you want to take them, all at once or split up. I usually take more off though, like 7 or 8 off a month. The pay is usually Just alittle lower for the month and I honestly rather make alittle less and be home alittle more. The only time I make like 5600 a month is when I only take off 5 or 6 days a month. Like this month I have 4 more days to work to make a full month after my home time, I will make Like 1k for them 4 days plus that to my 4600 I already made and it will be 5600.. which is good but 5k with 8 days a month off feels a lot better on the body :). Schneider never complains when I take off more then the recommended 6 off which I'm thankful for

So I live in North Carolina out in the country, Everytime I'm home I've been noticing tanker trucks coming out of The dead end road about a mile from my house. I asked a neighbor what was down their and he said their is a water treatment place down their but he didn't think trucks could access it from that way. Well I just saw another tanker truck just earlier coming from down that way. I see some with sleepers and some day cabs, I would love to find something close to home or possibly a day cab job even if it pays a lot less than current making. I'm gonna investigate this further and see what is going on down there. I might chase one of the drivers down and ask them who they pull for. I haven't seen any big company names on any trucks. So it's most likely small outfits. I might get lucky and stumble across a job that can offer alittle more ( like normal ) kind of living work

I actually tried to get in with SNI bulk about 7 years ago; they wouldn't take me due to a dang seat belt ticket in my PV~! Guess they are picky like that. (I actually HAD my belt on, but took it off rolling into a gas station, to get my wallet out of my Carhartts. He didn't care...)
If you're doing that good, with that hometime; I'd rake in the experience 'til something better comes up. Your daughter is young enough ... hang in there a bit longer~! ;)

That's almost EXACTLY how I found my local gig. Followed the O/O (small company fleet) up his road, he had a small sign in they yard; I called, and the rest is history. I had enough OTR under my belt; clean DAC/PSP/MVR.... he took me out with him ONE day... and here I am!

Yea I have no complaints about the company, my pay is always perfect and they let me work or take home time how I want. Only bad thing is the 2.5 hour drive from house to Charlotte. Greensboro is only 65 miles away from my house so if I do ever make a change I will pick a company out of Greensboro. But also in 1 more year I will be at 50cpm at Schneider aslong as I don't mess up big time, and this will really be hard to walk away from cause no other company's from what I hear pay this much for every mile.
