Don't be so quick. The knock on Kevlar for tarps is UV resistance. White sail cloth starts turning yellow within a few weeks or months. The fabric turns brittle and can lose a lot of it's strength. Personally I stay old school with PVC tarps (although they are stowed in climate controlled side boxes 99% of the time).kylefitzy, DDlighttruck and Zeviander Thank this.

We had some custom made ones for the tier 4 loco engines. The pro's about them: Very light, very easy to work with, would not balloon as much if you poorly secured the tarp. The cons: Tore easy on sharp objects, the d rings would rip out if you used a good quality bungee and pulled it too tight. They lasted a good while as long as you could avoid the sharp edge issues. Overall, I would buy one or something comparable to it if I needed too. Kinda lucked out and got me a conestoga

I was joking of course. My tarps have been used a total of three times in the last two years. They are covered in dust that gets in through the seals. I may need to buy another set in a year or two just because they get baked in summer heat.
DDlighttruck Thanks this.
