    I can sort of understand these crashes when they occur during dark hours, but during daylight hours you can always see the potential problem well before you get into it and can (should) make necessary precautionary actions.

    Everybody in the comment section in the link is harping on CB usage. At that point, there probably weren't any trucks coming through (making it through) and headed in the opposite direction. So what they should have been perhaps alerted to is a long lull in traffic making it through. If nobody is seen headed east for multiple miles, probably is safe to assume nobody is able to make it through westbound.

    That said, if you're stopped in the road behind an incident in low-visibility situation, some blind alert broadcasts could be helpful [if you're not busy on the phone with 911]

    My thoughts on the you can see it coming, CB issue is bogus. Drivers need to learn to pay attention to their surroundings, like is there oncoming traffic, is traffic slowing? Pay attention
