It's an ACERT so it was built with the low nox file. A rerate from 475 to 550 is one of the best things you can do to any Cat for fuel mileage gains
C15 Acert heavy work mileage.

Thanks guys. Here's a pic for fun.
Oxbow, noluck and Steelhauler1246 Thank this. -
But not when it comes to 6nz.

That's good. I think the Pyro is a little low if that's under a good load but if that's cruising, it is good.
I have one truck that runs a little bit more weight but he drives it like there is an egg stuck to the pedal and gets about 4.3, the other identical truck barely gets 3.
If you actually drive at 60 in a train, I wish I could give you an award because I don't see trains going down the road less than 65 scattering rocks and dirt. Like the one this morning that gave me a shattered windshield when he pulled in front of me on US-23. -
Crap, you need fairings, skirts and wheel covers...... lolOxbow, Broke Down 69 and Diesel Dave Thank this.

Aftermarket rerate is the best thing you can do .....Oxbow, DL550CAT and Diesel Dave Thank this.

3.5 is about normal. I don't know how you drive it. But you may can squeeze another .5 to .75 out with just driving habits
LoudOne Thanks this. -
If you put 550 horses to work, you have to feed them.
Yes, low power at initial warmup seems to be common with the Acerts. There are a lot of reports here but apparently nobody solved the myth.
I'm still happy with my kitten-c13, 500/1750, averaging 7.3 US MPG from pump to pump. -
Not using the right boot to heavily in the bottom range is a big saving....

It can be or it can be the worst thing you ever do depending on who does it.Oxbow Thanks this.
