So the trucks tailgating 73 mph cars in a 70 mph zone somehow slow down in a 35 mph zone??
Every day out here I will slow down and let a big truck tailgating a car in front of me so it can pass it on the right. I always tell them on the Xbox to come over ...
But in your mind the only speeding that goes on is a governed truck in a school or construction zone???? LOL, open your eyes

again pointing out that adding more laws wont change anything, won't make anyone safer just add to the already cluster #### of needless nonsense we already have. i do not think speed limiters will make our roads any safer.

I'm against speed limiter laws, but then the nonsense that the only trucks speeding are the slow governed trucks in reduced speed zones is just plain stupid.
    .
But the way people drive has drastically changed the last couple of years.
Most days I don't see a cop with a customer on the side of the road, it's no wonder nobody cares any more.

most trucks i see speeding in reduced speed zones are governed trucks, there is a strech of road i drive very frequently 70mph speed limit but several reduced speed zones, i pass a 62 mph truck slow down for the speed zone and then they blow by me still truckin along at 62.

but that was not the intended meaning of the context. you suggested solution to drivers driving like maniacs trying to be the clock is to govern there speed, my point was governing there speed won't keep them from driving like maniacs.

This is how I see drivers evolving.

Drivers of the past could be compared to home owners that own a home with a few acres. No covenants or restrictions. They can do what they want as long as they meet building codes etc. Some like this life style

Drivers of today, who embrace the ELD, speed limiters etc. could be compared the home owner that owns the home in the deed restricted, HOA community. These owners are told what colors the house can be, what color the front door can be, how many cars can park at the house and when to cut the grass. Some like this life style.

I have never lived in a HOA community, don't want to
When I was told I would have to put ELD in my truck, I said no thank you, sold out and retired after a lifetime of driving.
    don't want to!!
