From what I hear, it's pretty consistent. Not sure about the escrow though.

The % of pay is not as important as the pay rate itself

I would take 65% of $5.00 per mile loads over 90% of $1.10 loads

A 3 year old can figure out that 90% of 1.10 is worse then 65% of 5.00

But that's not going to happen. Most load boards will be pretty even across carriers, the smaller family operation would maybe even have the better paying accounts, only way to know would be to call and talk to the 90% carrier.

But it's common knowledge that there's tons of garbage freight at LS (van division) with some gems mixed in.

Or am I mistaken and Landstar has majority quality high paying loads. Not sure how you're going to average awesome numbers unless they have $3.00+ loads all day (1.95 after you give them 35%)

True, but it also depends on your location. But their freight is pretty steady, doesn't mean I'm going with them, but I'm watching.

Also need to know if there is something else included for the extra %% points they take such as cargo insurance, better fuel discounts etc.

Mostly its a shell game so you need to know all the numbers and details

    T-BoneX Thanks this.

They cover Liability when loaded and cargo. I think the deductible is $1000.00. You can buy bob-tail and insurance to cover your trk & tra through the Co. at a decent rate. If you don't like the rate get your own. Cost plus pricing at the TA/Petro. This is a very good deal it blows Jimmy's .20 off pump price out of the water. Jimmy aka Pilot ect. Tires at national account billing and they put you on a payment plan per settlement. If you want you can get plates through the Co. once again taken out per settlement. Deductions do not come out every settlement, they space them out. Permits furnished.

Hey, not including your truck payment, what all are you responsible for over at the company's you posted Admiral? And what do you need to have other then a truck as far as plates and ins?

And if you don't mind me asking, how much are you paying for everything needed outside of fuel and truck payment (if you have one)

B, when are you planning on starting work with that truck?

Well plates,Trans-flo scanning $12/mn.; ELD service is like $30/mn.;Trk and Tra. Ins. is 3-5% of value/mn.; bobtail is I think $50/mn. My ELD was $250,they ran a deal for early sign up. I want to say it's $500 up front for the plates. I think the only up front money is for Plates. This is at Admiral Merchants. They do not have trailers. If you want to do van work, to my knowledge they do not have much. I pulled a dropdeck for years and about 6 months ago switched to a conestoga. Landstar has trailers, I think Universal does too. I think you lose 10% pulling a Co. trailer, but would think they also have lease/purchase. There are dealers near S.B. that also do lease purchase. 10% down and at the end the trailer is yours or use your equity and trade up.

They take 10% of the 65% you're getting 0_0..... #### the more I'm learning the less these numbers are adding up for me.

My goal was to go with a 2013/2014 with around 3-400k miles and lease on to a company. LS was looking fantastic until I started digging more. 55% is just flat out unacceptable.
