Want to return to road had CDL 8 years experience need to retake test

    Hi I have had my CDL, went through school and worked for 8 years in the northeast, out west and Ohio. Has to stop due to family situation. Am a trucker at heart. Want to get back in business don't want to redo a school.

    Anyone have suggestions or know where I could get an 18 wheeler for a day to take the test in NC. Owner would need to have insurance and drive it to testing place to keep it legal.

    Excellent driver can get in and out of tight spots. Have also driven rigs with live animals.

    Any help or suggestions appreciated.

    You won't believe how much has changed in 8 years. You can do it the way you want, but it's much harder these days due to liability. Google for people that rent trucks just for the test.
    If you don't have any luck with the route you want to take, just try a trucking company school. East-West Inc. (www.goeastwestinc.com) can get you rolling fast through their training program. They're located in Swannanoa,NC
    Part of the training program consists of running to California a few times.
