    anyone else have this issue?

I made the mistake of missing a phone call from an Estes recruiter back in March! So I called her back immediately. And about, no lie, 150 times since then. Never get her. Left at least 20 voicemails. I gave up today (it's almost July). If they can't answer phones then why the hell leave a callback number on my voicemail? Makes no sense to me and my last voicemail I said I was gonna possibly move on to other companies that answer phone calls.

Anyone else deal with this? Is there some other number I can call? It was local pickup and delivery. I really don't wanna go OTR. Wife, kids ... family comes first.

    Thanks!!

Yep, read my reply in the LTL forum. Finally heard back after I'd found something else. Any way you could go in there, physically (looking professional and stuff) and ask to speak to someone in the local Estes there?
That actually got my 1st interview, doing that.

Wow. So I'm not the only one. Sad. Yeah I could/should totally swing by there tomorrow and ask to speak with someone. Them, and hit saia (across street from each other lol) and see who will talk to me. Frustrating though.

You dodged a bullet at Estes bud. Things happen for a reason and your guardian angel was with you when you missed that phone call. And your first intuition was right, that is just the tip, and a great look, at the screwed up-edness that you avoided. They can't return a phone call trying to get drivers, when they are HIRING DRIVERS! Try getting HR to return a phone call cuz you got wrote up and threatened with your job because they wouldn't let you off to attend a family members funeral. Or calling you in Florida on vacation saying "hey we mis looked at the vacation sheet. We have too many drivers off, you can't have off this week, you have 2 days to get back or you don't have a job" Or when you get written up and a 1 day suspension for writing "4:00" on your bills instead of "16:00" cuz you "didn't follow company paperwork policy"

I worked at the St. Louis term for almost 7 years. I quit about a month ago. They announced the cameras they were installing in the cab and we had a meeting about if we forget our phone or lunch box or whatever in the car, we hafta ask permission to go out to our car and get it. I've had less rules in catholic grade school so I bailed. They got new upper management is the rumor, I was the 12th guy to quit/ retire early this year from our terminal. Morale is pretty low to say the least.

Are you serious, man I use to work for a truck load division on estes called estes specialized. And it was nothing like your saying on our side. Nor the express side and Rob Estes was always at what ppl called his favorite terminal down the street from us innn ATL. But this doesn't mean what your saying isn't true. But if it has gotten like that. All I can say is wow!!!

Also to the OP about Estes. I saw you said you had wife and kids. If your wife works and is offered any sort of insurance she has to take her employers offered coverage. Now you can still cover your kids. However if your wife doesn't work or isn't offered any insurance you can cover her. And you will sign a piece of paper stating this. And they will research it and you will be terminated if falsifying. I'm not sure how many other companies do this but just thought I'd give you a heads up as I have a family myself. My wife had to take her employers insurance under that policy even tho it was like .0000004 steps up from not having any. Just something to think about or even ask around whilst you job search.

No dude you're absolutely right. Every terminal is ran so different. I really realized that when I teamed with Estes for a 1/2 a year. Terminals would do stuff I'd never even heard of, and we'd have rules they couldn't believe. Every one is kind of its own thing but not really. I know that doesn't really make sense. There's a basis of rules, but then each terminal has its own sub rules. It's all about the managers. When we teamed we went to a smaller end of the line terminal out east (I can not think of the city) and they had like a 35 year old terminal manager who was super laid back and everyone was happy. Meanwhile we had Stalin. And would get in trouble for stealing time for shaking it more than 2 times at the urinal.
