Agreed.. I threaten to take my load back to the shipper, because Kroger was so rude to me.. They had to have a supervisor run out and apologize to me and talk me into staying.. I hate Kroger, they are all the same.. Rude, rude, rude!!

 

It takes guts to do what you did! I absolutely, totally, and positively RESPECT you for what you did!

I wish I had guts like that!

E-log mandate

 

I don't know if it was guys, as much as it was how mad I was.. lol

I waited almost 2 hours to check in, and they will not let you check in more than 1 hr prior to your appointment. Once checked in, then it took another 15 min to maneuver the trailer into one of the small tight spots they had..

Once I went in some kid about 20 years old took my papers looked at them and said your about an hour late.. I explained I had been in line waiting to unload and he said, well we should just charge you a late fee and make you reschedul your appointment for Monday (it was Friday).. So I reached down to his desk grabbed my paperwork and told him, this load didn't pay me enough to start with and I had no problem driving it back to the shipper.. He told me if that's what I wanted to do he didn't care.. Well I'm in my 40's and don't need some smart ### being rude, so I walked out the door rehooked the trailer.. This is the point his supervisor came out and told me I couldn't leave.. I told him the hell I can't, your employee wants to threaten me after I sate for almost 2 hours to check in.. He said he spoke to the employee and told him it was not his job to talk to drivers about appointments, and he said he was sorry I had to deal with that and they would work on getting me off loaded.. I thanked him and let them do there business.. I have had 2 other experience like this as well, the other with testy brokers.. I always try to be a good Stewart to my employer but if you don't draw a line that others are not allow to cross they will walk all over you.. great thread thanks for allowing me to recall that memory..

Safeway in Tracy, CA. Thankfully I only had to go there once. The first stop on a multi drop load, and took the pathetic lumper service about 7.5 hours to unload a few pallets. The security staff is more interested in playing with their cell phones, and when I had to go use the rest room, there was a river of "human waste" running out into the warehouse floor...where pallets and cases of food were sitting.

 

You must not be a driver if your asking what will happen on December 18th at midnight.

 

Safeway in Tracy is the worst. I was banned from there. This is what happened. I had a 0600 hrs appt, when I checked in at guard shack they gave me a dock door, after backing into the door I proceeded to go inside and give my Bills to the clerk, she said they will get to you shortly. I went back to my truck and after four hours no one has even bothered to unload. It's now 10:00 am and I went back to the clerk to inquire what is the hold up and to inform them my appt was at 0600 hrs she said they will get to you. I said I don't think so. I went to the dock door and released the hook holding in the trailer, closed there dock door, jumped back into my trk shut the doors and pulled out to the exit. Upon getting back to the guard shack someone called them and said I couldn't leave. Well I informed them that this load is still my load until they unload and sign for it and I'm leaving and selling the load to someone else. Let me tell you that they put me back into the door and unloaded me in twenty minutes. They said thank you signed my Bills and please don't return. I said you bet and this place is a joke.

 

I TRULY & GENUINELY wish I were an over the road (OTR) truck driver, preferably going to and from all 48 states & Canada.

I have NOT been able to pass a D.O.T. physical. I am SERIOUSLY working very hard at trying to change that.

I have never been married and never had any children. I live in a one bedroom apartment which would allow me to be gone for extended periods of time.

SADLY & UNFORTUNATELY, both of my parents have passed away. I no longer have parental eldercare responsibilities.

I have not had any speeding tickets or moving violations since 2007, almost 10 years.
I had one no fault accident back in 2014, one no fault accident back in 2010, and one AT FAULT accident back in 1995, due to speeding and running a red light. By the GRACE OF GOD, nobody was seriously injured or killed.

This year was 10 years that I have been at my current job, since 4/17/2017, THANKFULLY & FORTUNATELY.

By the GRACE OF GOD, I have never been arrested for or convicted of any crimes at all.

One of my choices would have been CFI, (previously Conway Truckload), out of Joplin Missouri. CFI only hauls dry goods and does require a haz-mat endorsement.
Not sure, but I do believe that they also require a passport or fast card to be able to get into and out of Canada anytime the need arises.
