This is my second and final attempt to find what I would consider my "perfect" job here on this website. I have now 25 years of OTR experience with a perfect MVR and I am assuming seeing how I have no idea how to pull it myself an acceptable PSP score. I have a tank endorsement on my cdl but have no interest in pulling one. I only got it because of some requirements to have it for freight put in a van or on a flat. I have a twic card which means I guess that I've been a good boy. Have pulled every type of trailer except a tank, hauling from combines to mobile homes. I have concentrated on flats, steps and rgn pulling for the exercise and challenge. Have just about as much experience pulling vans and reefers though.
While I try to be respectful I am not politically correct, say what I mean and mean what I say. I've included this as to justify the following. If English is not your native tongue then please don't contact me about any opportunities you may have. Nothing personal, just if I can't understand you then how can I know what is required, nothing more nothing less.
I like to stay out for 3 weeks at a time, go home for a couple days to try to remember why I am married, then while at home remember why I am a truck driver and go back out and repeat the cycle. I am a firm believer that you get from point A to point B as quickly and safely as possible and if there is any time once you get where you are going, then that is where you can trash around.
Prefer a smaller company with equipment that will work with me instead of against me. Why have an engine capable of 500 horse or whatever if your going to castrate it to a 4 something. I am well familiar with everything from a 9 speed to an 18. I love shifting with my thumb
Compensation is as anything negotiable. I only want the ability to do a honest days work for an honest days pay. While I don't prefer to go to the NE or NYC or the island I have no problems going there. I'm well familiar with the exciting adventure hunts point, Chelsea mkt and others provide.
I know I've used a whole lot of "I's" so far in this post, and that is for a reason. Just as you the prospective employer have perquisites as to what you expect from a potential employee, I think it's only prudent the employee does the same.
What you can expect from me is a loyal to a fault, hard working, experienced driver that is not afraid to own his mistakes. You can also expect from me to treat your equipment as if it was my own with the way I take care of it inside and out. You can expect from me not to call you at 2 am to tell you a mudflap needs hung or a headlight replaced. You can expect from me to know where all the grease zergs are and how to adjust brakes if needed, and how to civilly deal with temperamental shippers receivers, whoever. You can expect from me the desire to be the "go to guy" on freight that needs to be expedited, all the while being conscious of protecting not only myself but the company too. Willing to elaborate on that if needed privately.
What I expect in return is really simple. A whole lot less then what you can expect from me. 1) don't lie to me. I don't care what you tell brokers or whoever, just give me a heads up so I don't get us both in trouble. 2) Don't mess with my paycheck. No need for explanation here I would hope. 3) don't mess with my hometime. If i'm out for 4 weeks and we agree for 3 days off, then I expect 3 whole days off, not 2 plus whatever time is left from the day I actually get home.
I know I've been long winded in this thread and for that I apologize.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
