Do they actually call the company you worked for?

They're suppose to call your last company to verify you worked there

What about non trucking companies you work for? I did 1099 work for a local guy I worked for before. He's really lazy when it xomes to verifing that i worked there. Idk if hes doing shady taxes or what but hes voicemail is full and he won't return my calls. He finally mesaaged me back the other day saying "sorry, ive been really busy and stressed to the max. I'll call you tomorrow." Well tomrrow came and went. He paid me cash. Idk what i should do. All my driving jobs are verified. Its just this non trucking job ive had this year that they cant get a hold of... The company in about to go to work for keep asking me and then when i tell them I have no w2 or 1099 bx I onky workes this year they blow it off... Then call a few days later asking like they forgot or didnt make notes.... So Idk if they care or not or wtf. But I'll be pissed off if i go to orientation and this mfer wont verify i worked there and get sent home. I keep aaking if I letter of employment verification will work but they dont give me a direct answer.
