Possible to gross 250,000 dollars a year and make negative 50,000?

I don't know if this is a repost but seemed like a good place to stick this article I just read....Rigged. Forced into debt. Worked past exhaustion. Left with nothing.

 

I do believe the class action lawsuit has been decided in that case in favor of the drivers. Again, lease operators are not the same as owner operators.

 

Why would u put yourself through that if ur not making money do something else

 

Wow!! What a good Article another good example in why you shouldnt lease just buy your truck and trailer and get your authority im sure you people have met or have friends that do this for a living ask them questions tell them to connect you with there brokers they always have work give it a while youll get to know people down the road and eventually haul for the direct source.

 

Sad article. Hard lessons and dire situations for these driver's.

I just don't understand how people expect to pay off a brand new tractor and have a living wage for $.90 a mile + FSC

They knew the rates, did no homework/planning, signed a contract and got what was coming to them.

Working 16+ hour shifts 7 days a week for $.67 cents a week and not having the sense to get out. NO, zero remorse for these fools.

 

I agree bad business choices but it still a sad situation. I'm sure most were hoping for a better outcome and a better way to feed their families and I'm sure some were screwed over illegally.
