Yep, same Pizza Hut, owned by whatever franchisee. Not sure of the particulars, but franchisees don't have to honor any contract with McLane.
I had a northern Indiana route the last two summers, and drove right on by four different Pizza Huts. And a couple KFCs. And I know there's more. I heard that somebody pissed somebody off back in the day. I think it was just last year we picked up a KFC in Fort Wayne, and that's the only KFC we service there.
I was talking with a Taco Bell manager a few years ago, and he said they got their stuff from another company for a while. He said it was a nightmare, with guys showing up whenever, parking in the back of the lot at lunchtime and walking it a mile. The owners finally decided it wasn't worth saving a buck.
We're definitely not the cheapest, but try to be the best. Or at least good enough. -
I always thought as far as customized distributors go McLane was the absolute best and top of the line, which is probably why a lot of MBM accounts jumped ship. My guess is McLane probably hiked the price and places like Arby's who were used to paying for MBM service didn't want to pay for McLane service.ZachG91 Thanks this.

My understanding is that isn't exactly the case. I think it's mostly our area that lost Arby's, and I'm not sure McLane fought too hard.
I saw Sygma at Arby's in Saginaw a few weeks ago.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
All the foodservice outfits do all the chains, in varying places and at varying times, it seems. Only exception I've seen being Martin-Brower and McDonalds. Never seen any variation on that one. I used to work for Willow Run Foods out of NY, and at the time we did Wendys, Arbys, Popeyes, Boston Market, and the odd Subway franchise. To my understanding they still do Wendys and Arbys around NY/NE PA/New England.
Don't much miss it. Now I deliver to the foodservice places. Just did Reinhart today, actually, and McLane last weekend. I won't bid Sygma or Sysco though, and lately GFS is annoying, what with 12 cases to a pallet and all. Wind up slinging more wood than product, like that.Brettj3876, misterG and Mike2633 Thank this. -
McDonald's out here is done from a local company called Mile Hi. it's done with teams here.
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Sygma was doing Arby's here in Ohio as well and a couple other MBM accounts to boot. GFS is now doing Carl's Jr in Texas, Hardees and Carls Jr were huge true blue MBM accounts hell they made MBM, MBM. MBM's entire color scheme of brown and orange stripes were all because of Hardee's and Carls Jr. Now that's all gone. Hell MBM bought out FFM which was Hardee's in house distribution and fleet, but that's all ancient history now.truck_guy Thanks this.

You are the man Mike.
I was just going by what one of the bosses in Cincinatti told me, and an MBM driver from Archbold that I trained a little recently.
The top management in Dallas is pretty sharp. I don't think much happens here without good reason.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
@truck_guy ,
Are you guys getting ready to do the Darden accounts I know the old MBM trucks are still doing those, but I would have to imagine pretty soon all the MBM equipment especially there trailers MBM had some rough looking trailers, I would have to imagine McLane probably isn't going to resign the lease on any MBM equipment.
