Okay let me clear this up for everyone, if you are currently working for or are leased on to one of the few Mega car carrier companies then none of this applies. They have their big contracts and are staying busy.
For guys like me who have a few small dealers they service and the rest of the work is from load boards then yes this is a horrible time for car hauling. Don't believe me? Take a look at the classifieds and see all the people bailing out right now.
Want to jump into car hauling for less than dry van rates? And buy more expensive equipment? do more work, pay more insurance, pay more maintenance, burn more fuel? Then go ahead and take your pick of the many pieces of used equipment from all the other failures out there.
2017 is coming, what do you expect

Did a couple loads with him he's showing me the ropes. He recommends I apply for United first though.

What's wrong with chains?
But there's no way I'm going to load a lifted f250 with no chains. That thing will be a low rider with deflated tires once I'm done with it.Ghost23 Thanks this. -
why are chains wrong in with Mercedes? -
Because German vehicles haven't had "proper" tie down locations to chain for years.
Dednutz, SLANT6, Terry270 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Chaining a pick up truck is completely different than a Mercedes/BMW. Which is what post 44 stated.
