To the OP, try searching Cypress Truck Lines instead of just Cypress. From what I ve read on there so far, the bad outweighs the good. The only good thing I ve seen from Cypress is at least they have late model equipment now versus the junk they used to run

I've been with them just over a year. Got my CDL through them and everything. I wouldn't personally recommend that. I would get it from the cheapest CDL school you can and utilize this or another company's tuition reimbursement. If you go through them to get your CDL, you're stuck with them for a year. And that first year can really suck. If you don't come on board with a year or more experience, you're likely going to get a 10+ year old truck. At they'll swap you out for even simple repairs. I went through 9 trucks in 10 months, so I learned to travel light. The truck I was in for the longest time that first year was a '97 international with a super 10.
The pros are you do get relatively decent miles if you run right. I averaged 2000-2200/week for my first year. They will definitely get you home every weekend, or find you loads to run if you want to stay out longer. After the first year, better loads, more miles and a newer truck ('14). They have probably equal parts eaton 10-speeds and automatics, with the rare super 10 or 9 speed. Overall not a bad company, the only complaint I'd really have is older equipment and no real detention pay and low tarp pay. And they tarp pretty much everything.Need4Speed Thanks this.
