U.S. Express strikes again
Saw in news while at home -
They said the body count has risen. They found another car under one of the trailers. That was on the local news tonight.

Man that is tough. I will pray tonight for the souls. Condolences to the families involved.

It's hard to say right know. I live around that wreck, and where that happened is a two lane construction zone with Chicago barriers on both sides. It's a well knowen place by local truckers that you well get cutoff by four wheelers. Not saying that's what happened but it might be.

I've been on that stretch a few times and even through that construction zone in that area people are flying through at 70-75 mph +

No, slow brain.
More senseless loss of life.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Agreed. 55 or 75 ... if you aren't paying attention (distracted) and traffic is stopped for whatever reason, where it isn't normally, horrific crashes are going to occur when you're dealing with that amount of energy.
But, it is understood that every increase in speed is going to increase the destruction given the same amount of (or lack of) distance to stopped traffic when reaction begins. But if a truck going 55 reacts 200 feet before the stopped traffic, and the truck going 75 reacts 600 feet before the stopped traffic, the 55 mph truck will probably do more damage. So, at this point, there's no way of knowing exactly how much [excess] speed may or may not have affected the destruction level.Last edited: Jul 12, 2017
