Wish I could put my tower in my truck, but doing so would require at least a 2000 watt inverter specifically for it, plus the air conditioning couldn't keep up with the heat generation.
Over clocking really drives up great, even if you have a water cooled tower -
How many computers are you running to need that much? High end PCs draw under 600 watts these days.
-
Not when your running dual ATI r290x video cards with 3 thin bezel monitors and have an overstocked Intel i7 6850 cpa. I'm pulling 1200 watts just on my tower
-
Have you actually measured those numbers? Because, less mobo/acc draw, you'll be drawing under 500W even overclocked.
-
Of course I have, using a Killah attached. Those video cards are 280 watts at base clocks, add in my 6tb raid array, water cooling system, 12 cooling fans plus case lighting
-
The towers I build are enthusiast towers, not your basic gaming tower. Tower alone cost me over $2000
-
Those cards only hit that max overclocked, only 185 on base. My main reason for not building for the road is bouncy highways killing cards. Only so much bracing can be done.
-
Best check again, the r290x with base clocks according to Tom's hardware are over 100watts more than your guess. There's a reason I head to go from a corsair tx1000 psu to an abs2000 psu
-
And that's on a single card pushing one monitor. I'm in crossfire with 3 monitors running games like battlefield 1 on ultra on 3 monitors
