Hi,
I just joined the forum in hopes of finding someone to do some work on my radio. I live in the 19067 area code, near the Oxford Valley Mall in PA. I'm close to NJ as well so that would be ok. I have an older Cobra 29 LTD from when i was over the road 10 years ago. It was bought new then some work was done at a shop on 80 in PA back then. It's not working correctly right now after taking it out of the closet (been there for a few years) and I would like to get it checked out. This used to kick some ### and I would like to get it working again. So, can anyone recommend someone to do work in my area or at least a drivable distance? Would really appreciate it.
On a side note, maybe someone could offer suggestions as to what might be wrong. I hook it up an it powers up, the antenna light is off when I key up and I can hear myself through the talkback BUT I get nothign else. Noone else talking (in a truckstop), no static, nothing. Radio checks are futile and the meter does not move when I key or try to calibrate and yes, squelch is turned down. I tried this in different trucks so it wasn't the coaxial or antennas.
Any help on either question?
Thanks.
Eric

I tried RF at lo, mid, and high settings. And yes, it was not on PA. Does this sound like anything you have ever heard off before?
