Local and state minimum-wage laws are higher than Federal minimum-wage in various places. That tells me Fed law doesn't always trump state law.

    *I forgot to update*

2 days after posting, I went to file a claim with Labor dept for $750. A week later I dropped my claim after my boss and I agreed to a $625 settlement. As of right now, I'm still employed getting $12 an hour for on duty and paid 10-15 minute breaks. Getting paid for 30 minute meal break varies on the situation. For example, If I'm in a shipping and receiving dock waiting to be unloaded/loaded, most likely you put yourself in sleeper or off duty for a break; The company must pay for the meal break. However, if your at truck stop or rest area, the meal break is unpaid.
