A 'one way highway'.... divided? Undivided? No chance to go around? You're truck spec'd at 58mph? You already late? Aren't all roads actually 'one way'? What..... I'm wholly unclear as to what conditions you're actually driving under.

It used to be done here too. I remember all those "minimum 40" signs along the Harbor Tunnel Thruway (also known as I-895 for you out of towners
) as a kid.
I guess someone decided they didn't want the signs misinterpreted as some sort of blanket endorsement of driving fast.

Actually yes its impeding traffic when u cant maintain speed. And going 15 under is kinda dangerous cause it bottles up traffic behind

Yes, if you pull onto a texas 85 mph highway governed at 60, you will actually risk being cited for impeding traffic. And the risk level for rear ending head removing wrecks under your decap bar below the trailer doors have gone up pretty much unacceptably high.
Any company that governs tractor trailer that slow out west with lawful speeds up there is very stupid. I don't care who you are or how big you are. It's still flat stupid.
If I had a ungoverned truck, she will roll 85 when it's lawful under that speed sign to say so. Otherwise it's whatever the speeds require anywhere else. Ive left behind the dollar truck wild oats days long ago. I would actually prefer it to be ungoverned because I have adopted the professional attitude that governed trucks are no longer worth the risk they now present to the people around them.NavigatorWife, Diesel Dave and trucker3205 Thank this. -

Or maybe speed governors aren't the answer when they actually cause a dangerous situation just as speeding. How many times have u been putting up a long grade 40,000# in box and every super trucker running up on your 6 like they cant tell youre slower. But if the truck wasnt goverened down cutting power you could maintain a better road speed and not feel in the wayNavigatorWife Thanks this.
