...so you've got a friend over...

Discussion in 'Trucks [ Eighteen Wheelers ]' started by Pedigreed Bulldog, Jul 25, 2017.

How would your wife react?

  1. No big deal...she's come to expect that sort of thing from you

  2. You'll be sleeping on the couch for a while

  3. The DOG will be sleeping on the couch for a while, as you'll be taking up residence in his house

  4. She yells until either your ears bleed or her head explodes

  5. D-I-V-O-R-C-E

  6. You won't be waking up tomorrow...or ever.

...and the two of you are replacing the clutch in his truck, tearing the transmission apart while it's out to swap some gears around to give him an overdrive. To make the reassembly process go a little quicker and easier, you've got gears warming in the oven, and shafts cooling in the freezer. You lost track of time, though, and your wife gets home from work before you get the parts out of her kitchen. Oops.

A man's place is not in the kitchen.

    For any reason.

If she wouldn't allow you to have a friend over? If say there are issues that need addressed. I guess it could depend on how long the friend stayed, and if any pre-made plans were ruined because of it. In general, it shouldn't be a problem.

You forgot the "I'm single and do what I want, when I want in my manly paradise of parts and grease, Bwa ha ha ha ha!" option....

Hell, that's probably closest to my situation...'cept I'm married. A man's home is his castle, and I'll do whatever the heck I want to in my castle. She's come to expect that, and while she might ask "why" out of curiosity, she lets me get on with my business without giving me any grief. She's actually more upset when a job turns into an all-nighter and I don't make it to bed with her than she is about finding my "garage stuff" in her kitchen.
