And they made him drive on 2 lane roads too! And wouldn't give him day shift just 'cause he wanted it.
And he hit a pole because nobody showed him how not to.
But, since he was a total failure as a hired driver he's going to become an OO. Yeah, that makes sense.
The guy sounds like a tomato hauler. In our part of the country that's not a compliment.
The whole post gave me a headache.
Not sure about my former company

LOL! You'll get that from time to time on here.REO6205 Thanks this.

True. The OP makes me really appreciate the guys I work with. LOL...they'll all drive on 2 lane roads at night and they seldom hit poles.

read the post again with a grain of salt.

Okay, maybe I took the guy too literally. It was a rough week at work and I think my sense of humor atrophied.

Yup, pretty obvious you don't get it.

Unloading wasn't your typical trucking job. It was unloading pneumatic trailers full of stuff that liked to clog the lines and double the PSI in the tank. In the middle of the night. By yourself. And I said we only got paid for 5.5 hours. The other 6.5-8.5 hours we worked for free. I won't mention the name of the company because they are on these forums. And half the time the other guys would almost run you over because of the cramped conditions where we loaded/unloaded. The lines for loading were 30 minutes to 7 hours long every single day. Rules for charging down time ensured we always made less than minimum wage.

Just curious, how many guys have driven on Palmdale road (or any 2 lane rolling highway with a 10' wide lane next to a 6" shoulder drop) in a tanker semi at night? did you write a will afterwards? Or just continue like "oh well that's life until you die". My dispatcher wanted me to do 60 mph through there. I did see some 18 wheelers going the other direction, but they were all vans and flatbeds and seemed to have air ride suspension and HIDs for headlights.
The cars drove with their brights on and blinded the #### outta me while I was trying to squeeze a full load between them, the rolling hills, the faded yellow lines w/no reflectors, and the shoulder.
It was at this point that I realized I'd be much better off hauling vans or flatbeds, even if it was on the same highway. And there's plenty of 6 lane freeway jobs around here that pay the same or better. -
Then this whole worthless thread should be in the "Trucker Rants" forum, because that's all it is.Lonesome Thanks this.

Anybody who is being hired for a company that sounds like this one is welcome to PM me so they don't get screwed.
