Just finished wheat harvest here in south central Kansas, and never had a bit of trouble with the truck overheating! We cut 1300 acres, and I hauled about all the wheat with this truck. Never really had to go more than about 10 miles roundtrip, but we had some awfully hot days near 100. Temp gauge ran right around 180 mark, and only once did it get to the 200 mark, which was odd, as I didnt really have that big a load on that particular day(but it was one of the 100 degree days). Got along real well with this truck, only wish it was an air ride, as it rides so dang rough!(lol)

I have a 85 KW with the low flow cooling system. It's been sitting for over 6 years and now I have a overheating problem. I've gotta the radiator flushed and rotted out, replaced both thermostats, replaced water pump, both fan and water pump belts, and fan engaged to stay on constantly and still having a heating problem. Ik the engine was turnt to a 444hp so Ik it run a little hotter but not this hot. Had it running fine at one point until one day it overheated over 240 degrees and boiled antifreeze out the radiator, had heating problems ever since. Even replaced the radiator after this and overheating has continued. All help will be appreciated... thanks in advance.!!

Convert it hi flow and retrofit the air to air from the n14

There is a baffle in the bottom of the low flow radiators that can act up and cause them not to cool, I would be looking at a new radiator, setting is one of the hardest things on parts.snowman_w900 Thanks this.

We had a 84 k100 with factory big cam4 400. Flowed injectors , pumped turned up blah blah . It had low flow cooling and had no problems with it. Always ran cool... not sure what all the fuss is over it..
Obviously the op has issues but if everything is it good working order no need to change it over..
I agree on the baffle thing thou. Could very well be his issue.snowman_w900 Thanks this. -
Put a pressue gauge in the back of the block water jacket plug. That is on the passenger side. Looking for about 52 PSI wide open. Set the gauge where you can see it while driving.
Did you clean out the cone shaped screen in the hose above the thermostate housing? They had some thermostat issues and housings remachined for different stats. Always replace with the number that came out and put them in the same place.
Air compressor putting air in coolant?snowman_w900 Thanks this.
