I just started using lubrifiner filters. When I am pulling a hill, my truck looses its throttle response and just coasts. After I let off the pedal for a few seconds, my throttle returns to normal. I am thinking it might be the fuel pump sucking the filter elements closed. Causing no fuel to the pump.I have heard of this happening before. I'm just wondering if it might be the filters. I normally use Baldwin. The motor is a 3406E Cat in a 95 Pete.

Switch back to Baldwin and see if it changes. I would put a fuel filter gauge in the truck. It's pretty handy to know what pressure you have all the time. Could be hose sucking shut. They do get old and the insides start closing In on themselves. Could be bad pump. Could be the screen in the hand priming pump could be plugging up. Check to make sure your fuel tank valves are open all the way. Seen them close themselves. Could be the fuel pressure regulator thats on your fuel block.

I talked to a mechanic today. He advised to stay away from luber finer filters. The element has a tendacy to collapse. I switched back to Baldwin today. We'll see how it goes!
