Granted it does imply you lack the ability to think for yourself.
But again you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. -
It's pointless to have a discussion about E logs with big companies drivers. All they know is call dispatch reschedule the load re power it with another truck that has more hours. Blah blah blah it's because of dummies like that we are being forced onto e logs. Grow a pair and get the job done you don't need no dang computer telling you when to work and when you can sleep.
dirthaller, gokiddogo and stayinback Thank this. -
What the elog does is keep track of your hours electronically instead of you having to break out a pen and ruler and doing the math yourself.
Elog doesn't tell me to work it tells me when I'm legal to move the truck and when I'm not. Just the same as a paper log book.
It doesn't tell me when I can sleep either.
Where did you get the idea it tells you when you can sleep? -
But when this happens to you
Worst. Merge. Ever.
And the driver of the car gets dozens of calls from lawyers promising them millions of dollars.
You're cooked, get her done log books will bankrupt you, and possibly put you in a prison cell,
You know what happens in the showers in prison?peterd, Tb0n3 and driverdriver Thank this. -
Oh wait I don't know why I asked that you also think they tell you when to sleep.peterd Thanks this. -

We called'em chicks with d....

I can't wait to see how this plays out in the oil/gas field. There was a driver at the last company I was with that "had" to take his 10. He also took the long way there. He was many hours late getting there. The company that sent the tools is no longer allowed to use the old company, which is part of the reason we left. And they got hit with rig detention. It cost them over $26,000 for holding the rig up.
See in the oil field company A pays company B. Company B calls company C for a tool. Company C calls company D to deliver it. Meanwhile company A is paying all of this and paying good money. If the driver drops the ball company B Is still charging company A. Company A does not care about HOS all they know is they are getting charged 10,000 an hour by B and are getting held up by D.
So yes it does boil down to money but if you have a run that takes 9 hours and you get held up because of traffic or something else out of your control. Then what? Your out of hours and 45 minutes form a 10,000 dollar an hour delay charge. Ohh I've gotta take my ten we can reschedule the delivery. Yeah right......stayinback Thanks this. -
gokiddogo Thanks this.
