Can I get some companies that take and or actually prefer you bring your DOT Physical card with you to orientation? Just got one done and the company I looked into insisted I take theirs the day of orientation. I just paid 100 bucks for this card and they refused. I was floored really floored. It seemed really sketchy to me like they have a deal with a clinic or something and get a kick back. I wouldn't put anything past these companies now days. I refused anyway , I am not wiping my ### with this thing I spent 100 bucks for. It's the principal of the matter now to me. I don't care if it was 20 bucks I am not tossing it in the garbage for you to make more off bringing me in to orientation.
So anyway can a few people give me a heads up on a few companies to look at that do not operate in this fashion?
Thanks.
Please advise what companies takes current Med Card.

If the company pays for it whay does it matter to you?
As for why they do not, it for fraud/insurance reasons. It's way too easy to scan a medical card in, change a few dates and print. There is no verification for physicals yet (database is on the way, so "they" say).
I understand the frustration, but at the end of the day how does it harm you to go to their physical? The end result is a med card with almost the same dates on it.
Now if they checked for apena, or duck walk, or weight lift or any other b.s. that is not required sure, refuse then.rabbiporkchop and CrappieJunkie Thank this. -
I'll narrow it down, all megas companies that have orientation most likely will not let you use your med card.Try small companies of 20 or less trucks.KillingTime and frago Thank this.

Freymiller

Where are you located and want kind of driving do you want to do?
-
You have to have one so go and buy it to show you have passed. But every company has to drug test you and it's all part of the process, you change companies next week , same thing.

Any company worth driving for will accept a recent valid medical card. If it'll be expiring in a few months, sure, no problem...but if I've still got a year and a half left? Sorry. Not going to go see your quack and subject myself to whatever games you might be playing. Even if it IS about to expire, I reserve the right to go see the certified medical professional of my choice to have it done. I'm fine with paying for it on my own...but you have no reason NOT to accept it. Like I said...if you insist upon something like this, I'm probably not going to like working for you so we're done here. You aren't worth my time.

Yeah, the megas suck. No experienced driver should be even considering working for them when there are so many good small and medium companies.

Thanks guys , gonna check into those.
To the folks that just don't care because its what they do and all that , to me it's the principal they are treating me like a piece of meat or livestock.
It has literally been less that a week , so what possible sense could it make? Well it is a red flag and I am not one to follow down the chute like a Hog to slaughter..Sorry I can go elsewhere I am not a steering wheel holder. Keep giving a small piece of your dignity away little by little and soon you will have none left. Stand up for yourself and be happier for it down the line.
Than ks again folks.
