There is no compliance period because it is not a regulation. No federal guidelines in writing what so ever. It is just a screw the driver requirement put out by some examiners at the suggestion of FMCSA jack offs.

I am going to give you some unsolicited advice here. First off, the kids farting in the air intake, get a cork, insert it in the appropriate orifice, secure it with copious quantities of gorilla glue, then duct tape.
I am sorry you're unable to get the use out of the machine that you should be getting. I've heard this a number of times, and my first thought is always that they are using the wrong mask. There are literally hundreds of different types and styles of them. But you have to find the right person to ascertain what is likely to be best for you, and fit it properly. Also, although a lot of them won't tell you this, there is a trial period. If you've got the wrong mask, return it within 30 days. Do this a time or two, and they'll actually really try to satisfy you.

Why do you guys keep saying 30 examiner can ask for up to a year, they are to judge your usage, no one else.

Why do you keep stating it's not 30 days?

Fact of the matter is it is 100% up to the examiner as there are 0 guideline about it. It can be 30 days, 1 year, or the last 50 years. The common compliance report is 30 days. You are the only one I've ever heard stating more than that. And well, with all the other b.s. you spew I have a hard time believing you.

That being said, insurance wants 70% over 30 days (sorry, was wrong earlier on the %) equaling 21 days in the last 30. Every one (again, other than you) I've ever talked to the examiner wants 30 days.
Go do a google search, here is the first hit cpap compliance guidelines - Google Search

The "Medicare Standard" for CPAP Compliance is 4 or more hours nightly usage on 70% or more of sampled nights, or 21 of 30 days. By comparison, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine recommends 7 or more hours nightly usage. With sleep apnea, treatment is only effective when using CPAP.Apr 7, 2015

So......If you were to manage to "get in compliance " in enough time to pass your physical......how long would it be before you slipped "out of compliance" after you see the Doc.?

For one reason or the other, someone.....with medical training.....diagnosed and prescribed the use of that machine for you. Sleep apnea is something you don't want to mess with , can literally kill you in a dozen different ways.

Use the dang machine , physical or no physical, driving job or no driving job......if it's uncomfortable , go see about making it comfortable .......dang it

It's too early , no coffee yet........get new truck today, not gonna let stuff like this bring me down.

    Zvar, Why?

    Because of this fact.

The examiner is in control. They don't always follow common practices or even believe your doc to qualify you to drive.

And as stupid as this sounds, a bunch of people are going to read the 30 day thing and think it is a regulation which is etched in stone and argue or dispute the examiner's need to see more than 30 days. They will also think that the examiner has to qualify them no matter what, seen this a few times first hand.

Up until this year, I had to deal with 30 60 90 and one year data sets to prove I am using my machine. Which I get pissed off because I can't sleep without it, and not only does my treating physician know it but so does my primary care and they have told these clowns that I use it. That has been the case since 2004, this year I dropped my cdl and retired but still see some of my drivers go through this crap.

The compliance rules are pretty much non existent if y'all really delve into looking for them. Two years ago I went for my DOT PHYSICAL, and was told I needed 30 day report, 70% of 4 hour days. This was some Russian doctor at Concentra. Last year I go with a 30 day report, and some African tells me I need 90 days. I wouldn't have been so pissed off, but I get my reports thru the VA, which is a pain in the ### to get. I told the doc, show me the rules where it states that. He told me if I wanted to work, I'd get him 90 day report. I hate that some doctor has control over whether I can wirk or not.

My D.O.T physical doctor wanted to see a full year report. He would not sign off with just 30 days report. My understanding is the 4 hours per night comes from Medicade or the sleep doctor. It just the standard everyone seems to use.

Last year I brought in my report showing 98% compliance, averaging 7 hrs a night, for the previous 12 months and was told this year they wont sign off on my card unless I bring in a note from a sleep doctor, it is all up to the quack in charge.
