I'm thinking I should underbid the broker on these & offer "drive-away". Plus, I could pick up 250,000lbs of onions on the way! $$$$$$!
Someone here brought up something- even if they could move them, won't they need to take them apart anyway once they get to the port? They can't just drive them on the ship, can they?

Guess it depends on how big the door on the ship is...my guess is that they could Get it on the ship intact. Probably going to Africa and they could just drive it the tea of the way
Oxbow, PeteyFixAll, RGN and 2 others Thank this. -
Yep, like @Rontonio said. Depends on the size of the ship. The bulkhead loading doors are huge on some boats
You pay per square inches or feet..Oxbow, PeteyFixAll, RGN and 3 others Thank this. -
One of Wallenius's ships has this listing for specs- max ht of cargo 17ft. Max ramp width 26ft. Ramp capacity 150 ton. 6,300 cars, plus equipment.
Oxbow, passingthru69 and Razororange Thank this. -
Don't get me wrong, I don't like to see equipment destroyed or wish this type of Bad Day on anyone, which is exactly why @Rontonio, me, and other constantly drone on and on about trailer ratings.
For those who think we are just trying to keep all the good freight to ourselves, nope, we're trying to help people understand the secrecy meaning of the phrase "Yes, big trailers will break!" I use all the time.
The bigger they are, the harder they break. -
Oxbow Thanks this.

I'll never buy a Talbert trailer......

There's more than meets the eye here, the rear bolster on that trailer is called a "half" bolster. It's not intended for that weight, mine has full bolsters between the axles and it would handle that just fine. That scraper had to pass over those boosters to get to that one. I've seen 37's loaded like that plenty of time just not on that bolster.
Ruthless, PeteyFixAll, dclerici1 and 8 others Thank this.
