A buddy of mine switched trailers with the owner of the carrier he was leased to. He spun the crank with one hand. The owner saw and yelled at him to stop it. "You're the dirty SOB who has been leaving your greasy mitts on these clean trailers!"
My buddy had to learn how to do it without leaning on the trailer.
Do you spin your landing gear handle?

"Normal" is a relative term.

Perhaps for you, MACK. But I've got to tell you that NONE of my relatives have ever been "Normal"
gentleroger Thanks this. -
Uh oh, someone have a little Dutch Elm disease in the family tree?

I meant that in the sense of being a matter of perception.
gentleroger and Big Don Thank this. -
That's the way I used to do it with the trailer I used to pull, now the new one I pull has a longer shaft length on it so can't do it that way. Although it don't bother me cranking it normal now since the landing gear sits low, and I hardly ever unhook from trailer, so just take the time to crank it.201 Thanks this.

Ha, yes I have, more than once. Main reason why I no longer rush to do my job, accidents happen that way.
-
This is a spinner
JReding, TallJoe, sevenmph and 1 other person Thank this. -
I do it the Schneider way of one hand flat on the trailer with arm extended....then two fingers on the side of the crank and spin like hell in high range!
-
No but I have splashed my crotch pretty good on a rainy day forgetting to dump the handle!
