So after getting told that the Albuquerque positions got filled up within 4-8 hours of them being posted, I talked to the recruiter there about reconsidering the Denver/Aurora route driving positions. The Albuquerque shuttle and route driver positions were advertised as having Fri/Sat off right from the bat.
I asked him about the ones up there and of course they do that "split days off" thing(whomever thought that up must be in witness protection some place).
That anguish aside, if I were to jump through the hoops to take a job up there, or any other McLane house for that matter, are the split days off a permanent thing? Or does one eventually get onto a set, consecutive days off scheme some time down the line?
I just like to do personal road trips, head out of town on days off, as opposed to hanging around town like some sort of paid call firefighter.(no offense to those guys, but that's what these 1-day off every couple of days seems like)
I've been plugging apps into different places like crazy the past, month or so to get away from the sinking ship I'm at right now. Willing to make some compromises as long as there's some sort of light at the tunnel's end.
McLane Aurora CO and bids.

Split days off. I worked that for a few years. But I didn't mind it. I hated the job. I hated going to work every day. I hated every second I was there. But it kept the bills paid, and the family fed. I liked the split days off for one reason only. I never had to work more than three days without being able to take a break for a day.

A guy who works part time with me works full time at McLane Aurora (the not old MBM version, the warehouse are down the street from each other). (yeah, he's a sick puppy)
he's been there 10 years.
he works mon-tues and thurs-fri
He wanted a local for wed and couldn't get it. So he works for us on Wednesday nights.
so I'd say even being there a long time means jackola. Honestly having a day off during the week is good you can get things done. (dentists, doctors, IRS, new job applications, etc)Big Don and bentstrider83 Thank this. -
