Trucking companies in South Texas

Six days to get there and 3 days to get back. I called dispatch to see if I can unload early but they wanted it at the original appointment time. I was told some recievers will unload early but not much. You do get your own truck after training and they are decent. They have a mix of volvos, freightliners, internationals, and Macks. My only gripe about the trucks is that they are automatics. I can't really say what a normal week looks like because this is really my first week out. I completed 7 days of training and I was home every night for that. The next week when I sent solo I just did a short haul because I took time off to move into my new apartment. They did move to mileage pay plus hourly for loading/unloading this past weekend so I'm unsure how that's gonna work out. i was told you get 15 an hour upon arrival through departure. Since it is an out and back kinda company you could be home every 5-10 days. They even have some local loads to keep you in the area but it seems the senior drivers compete for that. Do they have a rider policy? Also do they route you a certain way or do you choose which route you want to go?

Riders are not allowed since we haul hazmat. I was told to take the most direct route to my destination. They said they don't like if you go out of route just to stick to the interstates. They also want you to take the Hazmat route even if your load does not require placards.

Their website says .59 per mile plus empty miles based on experience.

Finally got on the internet. I'm down in Riviera Tx Family is ok. Went to Rockport yesterday to check on the house. My house made it lost some huge oak trees but my neighbors wern't so lucky. Gonna be a long road to recovery for us so keep us in your prayers. Thanks for checking Smut!!!!

Looking to jump ship to another company. I have 6 months of experience pulling reefer, however I have my tanker, and doubles endorsement. I passed my hazmat but I still need to get fingerprinted. I was making some decent miles with Swift but ever since January I have not been making consistent money. I'm out of the Corpus Christi, Texas area and am looking to get into pulling tankers. Does anybody have any good leads? Thanks in advance.

Kenedy is booming, thanks to the nearby oil facilities. That's near Corpus and there are several tanker companies there so I would go there.

Yea Kenedy isn't far but I got on with a tanker outfit here in Corpus.
