Thats the question, after i have my own authority, truck and insurance.. lease to another company for 70-80% of the freight or $1.50cpm+fuel OR go solo and make what ever i can negotiate from loadboards

Depends on if you have your own trailer or not

Depends on your abilities. It's like a cook asking if he should work for someone for a percentage of the profit, or if he should open his own restaurant.

i do have a trailer, air ride 53' dry van with cargo insurance $100k..
recently tho i got a call and then an email offer to join PAM for power truck only but they pay $1.30cpm+fuel. it is kinda appealing as i would not need my trailer and i think wait time at drop off/pick up would be minimal.. still i think it is low pay?

Your right, $1.30 is low. I have leased to a few and run my own authority on a few. I have found the smaller companies CAN be good, IF your have the right dispatcher in place.
Currently the company i am leased to pays 80% of total Gross, including FSC, i'm averaging $2 a miles and dong 5K a week on a 5 day week without killing myself. Some weeks a little better. The Dispatcher i deal with is rather good at putting together lanes and watching the rates and areas to send me so he has been doing a pretty darn good job of keeping my rate per mile up there. I don't think i have done less then $2 a mile yet, (on a weekly average).
If your interested in the company i'm running with let me know, just message me.

Wow...I'm shocked that you would even consider that...lol

Counter their offer with $3/mile, then meet in the middle

waw, if you getting $2/mile at 80% that means they are booking at $2.50/mile? not too bad and 5k in 5 days? thats about 1k per day or 100mph for 10 hours worth of driving, thats insane! whats the secret!???
