Can't say I have ever thought about selling any organs but I do carry a donor card so when I kick the bucket someone might have a new set of eyes,a new set of kidneys,a new set of lungs,a liver,a heart,skin grafts,bone grafts and the list goes on.Can't say I'll need them when I get to heaven,may as well put them to good use for someone who's still on the planet.Free of charge.

I used to have a donor card until I read a book titled "The Heart's Code" http://www.wholistichealingresearch.com/11books1 . The book gives documented cases of heart recipients have memories from the donor . There was one case where a young girl had nightmares of being murdered . The girl that donated the heart had been murdered . The recipient was able to give the police details and a description of the murderer that led to his arrest and conviction . One recipient actually met the donor . The donor needed a lung transplant . In many cases a person's heart will reject the new lung so the heart is also taken from the donor and the recipients heart is donated to someone else . So the donor of the heart and the recipient and their wives meet . The recipient's wife says the only thing that bothers her is her husband calls her "Sandy " when they make love . The donor's wife said her name is Sandra and the only time her husband called her "Sandy" was during love making . There are other cases also . Too weird . When I die , all of me is going . No memories are gonna be planted in somebody else .

My initial response was 'yes.' As they are my organs and the money can go to my family, who would no longer have me to earn money for them.
-My final thought was 'No.' Because;
-Dependent on your view, they are Gods as a loan/gift if your body is a temple and you are allowed to live in it or borrow it....
-Only rich people would get them.
-This could theoretically be the offspring of a black market, as with anythng containing monetary value....and you could imagine how screwed up that could get.
-Finally, and only my opionion, if your gonna give a final gift of 'life' it shoud be free and a true gift, as it was given to you. -
I voted yes, but have to admit that this idea scares me, lots.
I feel with this post the same way I feel about communism. It is a great idea, but requires a society full of honest people in order to work properly. If your organs are valuable assets, there is a chance that being put in a life or death situation doctors etc would be inclined (either by financial kickbacks, or otherwise) to not help you very much if you posess that exact organ they have been looking for.
This is why my decision to be an organ donar was a very cautious one. I would LOVE to help others with working organs once I am dead, but I do not want that to mean someone will be less willing to help me live.
Edit: After thinking about it more, and considering the black market idea posted, I would say no. There is already people murdering people for no good reason. Giving their very bodies a price value worth stealing from the person would give some people just enough motivation to kill for no reason other than organs. People tend to hold on to life too much. I appreciate helping people etc, but it comes a point when to help people by excessive medical means we are just trying to get in the way of God's ultimate will. -
Yep, not only that but it would certainly not be unrealistic to see the rich do whatever is necessary to obtain whatever organs are needed.
Did you sell it on the black market?????
I'm with you on this. I've been a potential organ donor for many years. Since the program first came out. Shoot, if I don't need 'em, maybe they can help someone else.
Any time there is anything that somebody can make a nickle on, they will do it. Including "studies." I'm not saying that this one is phony or preplanned, but I do take it with a grain of salt.
Which would you rather be - Dead and dreamless, or alive and have nightmares sometimes? -
how did you do that??? if it's not a Hammond, it's worthless!!!
seriously, what's the rationale behind not being able to? maybe they should make it illegal for doctors to charge $100,000 for the surgery? you can sell the service, but not the parts? maybe mechanics could give engines away, but charge $10,000 to install them.
