An auction house in a "go-between" between the seller and buyer, right ? So, obviously, there's no accounting for the sale vehicle in regards to condition etc. Sometimes however, the seller is present and you can talk with him about the vehicle, however, he can "puff" up the condition. You will be informed that any vehicle is sold "as-is". If you can start it and shift the tranny while parked and just pray it's a good one ! ! ! ! ! right ?

What year. And specs on truck?

Ya my biggest fear. I kinda feel it's either u get a great deal. Or a big rip off and pos. Prob not much in between. Guess I'll go with cash in hand and see if the trucks I want end up being cheap enough 2 risk it

My last 2 trucks came from auction and my next one probably will be from auction as well. That being said make sure you inspect it really good, or have a mechanic friend come along.

I recommend iron planet. They have their "iron clad" guarantee on the trucks and do inspections and oil analysis. I've purchased two vehicles this way. Obviously, you'll need to be prepared for some sort of work.
jsnell Thanks this. -
Apparently iron planet is owner by Ritchie brothers. Bought them out sometime ago just found out todayjsnell Thanks this.

Well going tomorrow. Have about 8-9 trucks that fit what I'm looking 4 pretty closely. Judging by the median sales price of similar units at there auctions this year I will prob be taking the gamble on 1 or 2 if they visually pass the test and don't give me any funny vibes. Will update tomorrow all. Thanks 4 those who had input
