I hate switching jobs,
Crete is only my third real job
I hate almost everything about Crete.
My average miles per week with hometime is about 2,100 at 50 cents a mile.
I almost never drive nights.
I almost never deliver near midnight.(maybe twice a year)
(Deleted that paragraph) sorry.
Bunches of short loads and a lot of unpaid dock time.
A lot of zoned (regional) freight where I don't live.
Away from home 21 days.
I can idle all I want to keep comfortable.
Or
Or
Or
Pull a pneumatic trailer
Slip seat in a day cab (truck makes another run after me, or before me)
The yard is 4 miles from my home.
250 miles empty to load and 250 back and deliver at 37 cents per mile.
15.75 hourly for loading and unloading, (pay starts immediately when I get there) they say about an hour on each end.
Usually 6 runs per week.
Should I switch companies, Part Deaux

What kind of pneumatic hauling is it?
-
Crete would be lost without you.
Mike2633, tucker, CasanovaCruiser and 2 others Thank this. -
All I can say is I think driving the same 250 mile stretch every day would become mind numbingly boring in about 3 days. And would make me go totally bonkers in just a few more days.
austinmike and tucker Thank this. -
I voted yes & no since we had two choices.
diesel drinker, tucker, ladr and 1 other person Thank this. -
You stay out for 3 weeks for 2100 miles a week?
If your going to do local, why not go to a teamster outfit and make some decent cash, or estes or OD or something?gentran Thanks this. -
Gotta love a wiseguy.
Was gonna just vote "Tucker is awesome," but I forgot the question?

Crete will always take you back, that said do you think you'd really return?
If you would never go back to a job, that's a job worth leaving imo -
Is that 0.37 1099 or w-2? Even w-2 it's near the bottom of what I would do...
Of course maybe once you have some pneumatic experience, you can get a better paying job.
