None of those really.
It's the dispatcher for me. A good dispatcher means everything else falls into place.
There is a time for everything such as home time. Don't take it too often as it cuts deeply into your ability to earn money. The sooner you get out of training and on your own, the better you will be. The equiptment will be fixed when need to. Otherwise you find another company, I don't care if it's 50 year old short mack on spring or a latest in luxury, in fact I would lean towards the older equiptment. You can do things away from electronic survillence. Pay has inflated since the 80's .50 is the new .20 per mile. Salary is what I advocate best. A minimum of 1000 a week regardless of what that truck does. That eliminates all of the problems based in per mile pay that dates to the 1930's and the elmination of the overtime exemtion against truckers who already work 70 hours or more a week, many of which is unpaid. The material? You wont hire a 21 year old to haul gasoline outside of war due to insurance problems. So it's not entirely up to you what you haul or dont. I already know what specific segments of our industry to participate in to reduce all of the associated routine problems to zero as possible.
And finally it's a journey in your life time. You determine how well or badly it will go. If you are indolent and lazy you wont be trucking very long and that will be a tragedy because trucking is pretty mindless compared to the education required to do other things in the work force.
I don't offer much of anything specific to this so called poll. I can only offer the good, bad and the ugly.
What is important to you
