It's funny, walmart is considered to be a great driving job by many. But I was doing a walmart dedicated gig for Landstar and learned about an orientation where there was about 16 new hires and after they told them they would be working weekends and holidays for the next 10+ years and that they could not talk to their families on hands-free phone while driving only 6 drivers remained in orientation.

70k+ and health care paid for as well? Good luck with that. Maybe I'm just out of touch with the Chicago market.

We're at 62,500 regional home weekends but in Indianapolis. No health care. That is probably worth another 6000 atleast.

Hadn't had any open seats here for around 8 months. If you find what your looking for then wow, I may go back to driving. LOL

Lots of LTL companies LOVE gobbling up veterans. Some even have incentive/bonuses. Chicagoland is packed with LTL companies. Some have multiple terminals in the location. Thanks for your service also. Unless I misread that and you meant you're a 35+ year veteran of trucking. Then also thanks for your service cuz odds are using the "6 degrees of seperation" I probably bought something sometime you hauled.

If being happy is the least of your concerns, what about Sharkey Transportation and/or Core Carrier? They are both owned by the same company, offer Midwest lanes, and cover 100% of your Insurance (so they say).

Hazmat Environmental Group. You can make your 70k+ there and be home weekly if you want
