We just have bad water out west. It's hard it's dirty and has sediment in it, you either buy bottled water or use filtered water.
If ya can't sell fuel sell parking.

This certainly is true all across the Mojave. However, I've lived in Oakhurst, and on the central coast, where there was nothing wrong with the water. Of course...That was in the early '70's. It all may be polluted by now.Bakerman Thanks this.

Any water utility that uses "surface water" (from reservoirs) has nasty water that smells and boils out leaving all sorts of sediment.
Deep aquifer or spring water source is always the best when and where you can find it. -
F tht they wouldent have a biz if it wasn't for truckers....

Were not in jail Don, we don't have to drink it like we are.

I parked, then spent 23 minutes, with two other drivers, putting 3 rookies into 3 holes.
Money isn't the answer, and never is to these types of situations.
A little help, all it takes.
Of course then some other dude bypassed the easiest spot, clips the Volvo across from me, then the trailer in the row behind him, and one spot over, all in one turn.
3 of us could even put a chimp in that hole.
Of course Schneider leaves his nose out two feet, just to make it that much harder on everyone.
Probably mad cause all the paid spots were taken already.
fargonaz Thanks this. -
The paid parking idea will catch on sooner or later where it really belongs, where the trucks go to load and unload, i.e. industrial parks. No locals would object, it is already an industrial area. Leasing a lot with a fence and a gate is cheap, biggest expense would be to have security roll the lot or watch the cameras from a remote location. If you want lease space for a couple of trailers for food, if you really want to get fancy have some totally automated shower facilities that are self cleaning, you know, fire hoses aimed at all corners that go on for 5 minutes between customers. Just don't trigger the hoses while you are in there....
There again, some drivers need that.... -
I don't pay. I don't want to encourage them.
Even as packed as the north east is there's always somewhere to go. Especially as retail continues to evaporate. When I started, Circuit City had just gone under and you could usually find one and bump their dock for the night.
Now as K-mart, Penny's, Macy's & Sears shed stores there are even more docks becoming available. There are entire malls in Ohio that are shuttered and they don't have the money to hire a guard or put up a fence. Sure the local PD will chase off a sleeping rig but the locals are drag racing in the lot, ripping the copper out of the walls and running wild through the former food court.
And I can't stand paying $3 for a pint of milk when I can get it for .95 cents at my local supermarket. Just about everything T/A carries can be bought cheaper elsewhere.
They really DO think we're too stupid to hit a Kroger's on our way over.Warrior Pump and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
