I just can't buy that Swift is doing you wrong.

Are you sure it's not the Diaz brothers? I bet it was the Diaz brothers! They got beef going back to that Sun Ray thing.

 

I'm supposed to go to orientation in Syracuse on the 14th of August,right after drill. I'm cool with missing drill for my mentoring period (240 hours),but they better not screw me on the other drills. If this works out,I'm calling my Army career a wrap in November (10 years). Reserves is boring as Hell & there's no $$$$,only honor. I'm a heavy equipment operator (engineer).

 

Swift isn't a bad company to start with. I did and now I'm at ups freight.

Swift overall in my opinion is not a bad starter company at all. I started fresh there and enjoyed it the whole time. Now I'm at ups freight kind of missing the company. You just have to know what you want to get out of trucking. Like any profression there's stages to go through before becoming successful. Swift will give you the tools and knowledge to become successful in the trucking industry. Swift is actually one of the best places to start at,I will go into detail on my thread.

 

Where?

I started at Swift and had a pretty low opinion of them as well, until I started looking for a job at other mega carriers. Say what you will about Swift, they are not the worst company out there.

 

Swift like any other job or company you have to make relationships if you do right by your DM being on time not ####ing up and if he is a good DM he can get you plenty of miles. On the other hand if you can't get your job done correctly well then why the hell is he going to go the extra mile in helping you. The more miles you get the more money you make him. Although don't get me started on the idiots they hire, of course not everyone they hire are in that group but jeeebus weed though most of them in training and don';t put them on the road

 

Swift DMs aren't directly compensated for driver miles. It's one among multiple performance metrics for a DM.

 

I'd be smart and finish your 20 with the army.

 

are you still there? I could give you many things you would not believe from Swift! The latest is giving drivers a hard time when wanting to take a 34 hour reset. Then hounding them during their reset, which is interrupting their reset. No wonder swift drivers have a bad rep, if they are all forced into fatigue, and given a hard time when trying to use the tools from dot to avoid driver fatigued accidents.
