Mr. Bultz. ( MBI ) will have his hand in that no doubt, and be paying his drivers nothing extra while he just rakes it in...
Does anybody know where I can find the FEMA loads?

And as good as that was, Charlie was so much better cause it lasted much longer. -
I remember when the US Xpress drivers found out how much money we were making. They all wanted to quit and went crying to their dispatchers because they were only making $150 a day. It was fun watching.
spyder7723 Thanks this. -

I remember for Hurricane Sandy they offered me 6k to leave trailer and bring a generator up to new york i was like hell yes ill do it. then said he would pay me 1000 a day just to move trailers up there. so when I was delivering which only took a couple hours not bad at all. was talking to the other drivers they asked me how much I was paid I told them and I got the impression they got close to the same. but one guy there only got 2300. we got honest brokers and he got a dishonest one. Oh im sure my broker was probably getting 10k for that load and robed me blind but was ok with it cause made me richer as well. I felt bad about that other driver though.

I always thought a "broker" should be required to have a transparent price for his service. Much like a real estate broker is required to show his fee in a contract upfront. I don't think FEMA (the taxpayers) should be involved in a system where a middleman is allowed to blindly charge the taxpayer as much as he can. Most have no trucks. (I am a BIG free market person but I don't think brokers were ever meant to be making more than the truck doing the work.) Remember, brokers are licensed by the government.

If you think a broker is making more than you and it really bothers you, don't haul his load. That'll teach him.
I'm starting to think the folks that complain about what a broker makes are the ones that don't have the ability to negotiate. And/Or are to strapped for cash that they have to keep churning out miles at any cost.spyder7723, SoCal Trucker, BoostedTeg and 2 others Thank this. -
Without transparency, how can a person figure out if a broker is lying? We could guess or use statistics, but that seems more suited to games and gambling. Transparency would improve the industry, much like police body cameras would help the public to sort out police misconduct.

If a broker offers a load at $300 on 200 miles and you found out he was only taking 10%, would you say that's a better load than a broker that offers $1500 on 150 miles that takes 20%?
If it's cheap don't take it: doesn't matter what the other guy makes, that's on him whether he makes a lot, a little, or nothing!
How bout if a broker is trying to cover a last minute drop off load: he bid it at $1000 but is willing to lose money to keep the customer happy and offering $1250 to get it done: do you refuse and say noooo no, you're entitled to your 15%...?spyder7723, jamespmack, wore out and 1 other person Thank this.
