Hey brother, passed my DOT physical yesterday. Got my certificate. So, you staying at the terminal tonight? So when you said you have yourmarker light on last night does that mean you were parked tight in a space at the stop or did your have to sit on the on ramp?
Steelersjunkie Thanks this. -
Wassup Truckerland. Tonight I'm comin' at ya live from Steelersjunkie Manor. I am completely exhausted and I should probably be heading to bed but I couldn't pass up the chance to put up a post from my home computer. Yesterday fell way short of what I had planned, but the end result was the same, I'm home. I started my day at the TA in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. I was delighted to see that some of my neighbors had left, because things would have been a little tight otherwise. I'm starting to understand why some truck stops neglect to paint lines for parking spaces. Some truckers will still park wherever they please regardless of the lines. I was a little concerned when I went to bed, I was sure I'd be pounding on some doors to get out in the morning. Here's a little PSA for the trucking community. You aren't allowed to ##### about four wheelers FOR ANY REASON if you can't do something so simple as parking your truck between the painted lines on the pavement. Stupid mouthbreathers. I was shocked that I woke up with my hood intact. I got moving and headed to my final. I had a large window so I stopped at a Love's a few miles short just to double check everything. Good thing I did. This was a broker load. If you've been following my threads, you're already aware of my intense disdain for those loads. I am here to report that my record is intact. 100% of them have been screwy in one way or another. No exception here. The address I got from dispatch was correct, but it was the wrong company. The address I got from the broker was wrong, but the company name was correct. I try my best to be patient with human error and miscommunication, but come on man, WTF? So, I called the final to see what the deal was, and was not only given the correct info, but I was also given info about construction and closed roads I would encounter on the way in. Now THAT is good service. I found the woman I spoke to when I got there and made sure that she knew how much I appreciated her help. What a nice lady. I mention that simply to mention this... Last weekend I had a delivery in Cleveland. The customer is fantastic. Extremely friendly, accommodating, helpful, and patient. I'll go ahead and name them, because I love going there. Beverage Distributors on King Ave. in Cleveland Ohio. Your staff is awesome, take a bow. My delivery was on a Saturday, and apparently the office isn't open. I had a question about navigating the local roads because my GPS and Google were showing closures in the area. Who better to ask that a local? When I called I got a message saying they were closed. So I messaged dispatch to verify that my appointment date and time were valid. The response I got was ridiculous. I was chewed up one side and down the other, and told that I was never allowed to call a customer for any reason, I need to send Millis a message and let them handle it. By the way, this wasn't Opie, I have no idea who this was. They didn't have the balls to put their name on the message. I have never once been told by anyone that it isn't permitted to call a customer. Not in school, not by my trainer, not by Opie, not by anyone EVER. Just so you know, whoever you are, I am going to continue to call customers if I have a valid reason. That trip last Saturday and this trip yesterday were very valid reasons. I'm not going to sit around and waste my time while messages get relayed. I'm going to make it happen fast by cutting out the middle men. And by the way, there has never been 1 single time where I was met with anything but a helpful friendly attitude when I call, and I reciprocate that in return. So, whoever you were, FFFFF UUUUU. You don't belong in a position to manage us, because it's a guarantee that your candy ### can't do our job. And without us, you don't have one. Sorry, I digress, but it needed to be said. I got to the final and was given a load that picked up in Green Bay. Opie was on top of his game, as always. That load was a drop for another driver at the Richfield terminal. I met with him and handed off the load and picked up a load in West Allis bound for home. My truck is waiting for me to come back in the morning for one last trip. I have to wake up early but it's fine, because tonight I will be in my bed. I am bound for Solon, and then back home until Tuesday morning. Sorry for the attitude, but the fill-in dispatch needs a makeover. I am not a child, don't address me as such. And I am not ignorant. I have tact and good customer relation skills. Thanks again to Opie and the folks at my last unload. You've made the last couple days a pleasure. Talk at y'all tomorrow. Time to catch some sleep and get ready for the morning. Peace guys, I'm out.
