I live in Southern Ca. but moving to Az before I start on with Prime. I'm leaning towards Prime or even maybe Roehl flatbed division. When I fully finish CDL training, do the 10 & 30 thousand mile and get back to upgrade.
Do I choose the division I'd like to drive in?
Do I chose the truck? (Wouldn't want a lightweight truck)
I'm looking for the wife to travel a few times a year with me.

Jim Palmer Trucking hauls for Prime and has really nice trucks. Their school is in Montana.

Thank you for that info, yes your rite they are some beautiful trucks!! I'm looking for "flatbed" work. I'm just finishing 30 yrs as a union carpenter and I enjoy the physical work and it also helps keeps you in shape. So flatbed work for me at the age of 48.

This would be better suited in the Prime forum but I drive for them so I can answer these...

1.) Yes you choose the division you want. I believe you choose the division when you fill out the application online. You can also switch divisions once you're hired on.

2.) Yes and no. If you're going flatbed, you won't get a lightweight. I think only the reefer division gets lightweight and even then you can request a condo (just say you want to bring a passenger or pet eventually).

If you go with prime, you pay for all your tarps, straps, binders, ect.

Don't take my advice from anyone ive never worked at a mega but have you considered tmc for running a skate. 30yrs in a career they like to see and they are big on hiring former military vets. Seems most are pretty happy there, well as happy as you can be at a mega and they run top notch equipment from what i see. You will deff be a pro at tarping
